Persistence is the steady pursuit of what we have set out to do. God has given us what we need to stand firm when our faith is tested.

In Luke 4, the devil tempted Jesus repeatedly in the wilderness. Each time, Jesus answered with Scripture. He did not give in or abandon what He knew to be true. He continued to stand on God’s Word until the devil departed. His example reminds us to keep returning to the truth of Scripture whenever temptation comes.

When I am being tested by the enemy I will stand firm on the Word of God.

There’s a saying that failure is temporary, but giving up can make it permanent. Don’t let a mistake convince you to stop pursuing God’s plan for your life. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that God is our ever-present help in trouble.

If you’ve taken a wrong turn, begin by turning back to Him. Repent, receive His forgiveness, and take the next step. Your mistake does not have to be the end of your story.

 I will not let my mistakes keep me down. Instead, I will repent, arise, and learn from them.

We should never forget what God has done for us. He is faithful, and remembering His goodness can strengthen our faith for what we face today. We don’t have to live in the past to be thankful for it. We can recall the times God has helped us and bring that gratitude into prayer.

Psalm 100 invites us to come into God’s presence with thanksgiving and praise. As The Message puts it, “Enter with the password: ‘Thank you!’” When we pray, let’s begin by thanking Him for what He has done and trusting Him with what lies ahead.

 I will praise God for what God has blessed me with in the past and I will pray in faith believing today knowing He still hears and answers prayer.

God gave us His Word to guide us through life, and He has entrusted us with the responsibility of taking it to heart. When we neglect Scripture, we miss the wisdom and direction He has provided for us.

Putting God’s Word in our hearts takes time and intention. As we read it, think about it, and put it into practice, it shapes the way we live. The effort is worth it.

Today I will take the time to put the Word of God in my heart through reading and studying the Bible. I will see victory when I stand on God’s Word in faith.

Throughout the Bible, we see God providing for His people—in the wilderness and even in the home of a widow. His provision goes beyond material needs. He gives wisdom when we lack answers, comfort when we are hurting, and His peace when life makes no sense.

The God who created heaven and earth has not run out of resources. Whatever you are facing, look beyond the limits of what you can do on your own and bring your need to Him. Let Him replace your sense of “almost enough” with confidence in His more-than-enough supply.

I will remember daily that God’s love for me and His ability to supply is unlimited. Through obedience, prayer and faith I will tap into the unlimited resources of God.

Luke 7:6-10

In Luke 7, Jesus healed the centurion’s servant without going to his home. He did not lay hands on the servant or pray over him in person. The centurion believed Jesus had authority to heal even from a distance. “Just say the word,” he said, “and my servant will be healed.”

As a commander of soldiers, the centurion understood what it meant to speak with authority. He trusted that Jesus’ authority extended over sickness, too. Jesus marveled at his faith, and when the messengers returned home, they found the servant well. This account reminds us that distance is no obstacle to Jesus’ power. We can take Him at His word and trust His authority.

Victory Action

I will not make God wait on me! I will build my faith through the study of God’s Word. I will step out in faith at His direction. As I do, God will respond to my faith and confirm His Word with signs following.

Love is at the heart of spiritual growth and healthy relationships. As we allow God’s love to guide us, we become more sensitive to His Spirit and more open to the blessing and power He wants to express through our lives.

Walking in love is a daily choice. We choose to yield to God’s love within us instead of giving in to selfishness. And that love grows as we stay close to Him—spending time in His Word, praying, and enjoying fellowship with Him. The closer we walk with God, the more His love shapes the way we treat others.

Today I will remember what great love God has for me despite my failings. I will choose to view others the same way. From this point on I choose to walk in love.

When circumstances put pressure on us, we have a choice: give in to fear and frustration, or bring the problem to God in prayer. What is your first response when trouble comes? Do you worry, complain, or look for someone to blame? Those reactions are understandable, but they cannot carry the burden for you.

Whether you’re facing overdue bills, challenges with your children, or a difficult family relationship, make prayer your first response. Find Scriptures that speak to your need, bring God’s Word to Him in prayer, and trust Him with the situation. He is faithful to His Word and will guide you through what lies ahead.
