{"id":91,"date":"2026-04-20T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/drbobnichols.calvarycathedral.org\/?p=91"},"modified":"2026-03-07T19:58:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-08T01:58:32","slug":"91","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calvarycathedral.org\/wpbobnichols\/2026\/04\/20\/91\/","title":{"rendered":"The Image of God"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5f809f1ed03824cab2a05fc4d8217ec7\">&#8220;You were created in the image and likeness of God regardless of what you see in the mirror.&#8221;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><i>And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: <strong>Genesis 1:26<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<i>For I am fearfully and wonderfully made. \u00a0<strong>Psalms 139: 14b<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.<\/em> <strong>Galatians 2:20 ESV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. <strong>Behold<\/strong>, the new has come! <\/em><strong>2 Corinthians 5:17<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we look at ourselves we often do it through the filter of what <em><strong>we<\/strong><\/em> know about ourselves. We know the good things that we have done. We also know the bad things that we have done. But we should find our image in the Word of God and who we are Christ. Because that is what God sees when He looks at us. He looks at through the filter of love and forgiveness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,  made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!<\/em> <strong>Ephesians 2:4-5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him<\/em>. <strong>2 Corinthians 5:21<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fb7c6ad1c175a23789e6201db49fd34d\"><strong>Victory Action<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">I will make time to study the scriptures above to renew my mind to who I am in Christ. As I do I will be able to strongly confess that I am the righteousness of God in Christ!
