{"id":438,"date":"2025-12-09T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calvarycathedral.org\/drbobnichols\/?p=438"},"modified":"2025-12-03T13:52:47","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T19:52:47","slug":"no-replacement-for-basics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calvarycathedral.org\/wpbobnichols\/2025\/12\/09\/no-replacement-for-basics\/","title":{"rendered":"No Replacement for Basics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201c<strong>N<\/strong>othing takes the place of prayer and eye contact with your Bible.\u201d<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><sup>9<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. \u00a0<strong><sup>10<\/sup><\/strong>With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.<\/em> &#8211;<strong>Psalm 119:9-10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00a0Thy<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>word<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0<strong>lamp<\/strong>\u00a0unto my feet, and a light unto my path. &#8211;<strong>Psalm 119:105<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O\u00a0Lord; in the morning will I direct my\u00a0<strong>prayer<\/strong>\u00a0unto thee, and will look up. &#8211; <strong>Psalm 5:3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have so much information available to us today! You can watch, listen to and read about the Word of God. But the thing about relationship is spending time with the author of the book. The best way to do that is to read your Bible for yourself and spend time in prayer communicating with God and letting Him communicate with you. There is a reason it is called a PERSONAL relationship.
