{"id":164,"date":"2026-09-28T10:57:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T15:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/drbobnichols.calvarycathedral.org\/?p=164"},"modified":"2026-09-28T10:57:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T15:57:11","slug":"prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calvarycathedral.org\/wpbobnichols\/2026\/09\/28\/prayer\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><b>\u201c<\/b>One&nbsp;source of strength in prayer is remembering and speaking forth past blessings.<b>\u201d<\/b><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. &nbsp;I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. &nbsp;They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Psalm 145: 4-5, 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1 Samuel 17:37<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus, the Anointed One, is always the same\u2014yesterday, today, and forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hebrews 13:8 (The Passion Translation)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything you pray for with the fullness of faith you will receive!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 21:22 (The Passion Translation)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We should never forget what God has done for us. He is faithful, and remembering His goodness can strengthen our faith for what we face today. We don\u2019t have to live in the past to be thankful for it. We can recall the times God has helped us and bring that gratitude into prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Psalm 100 invites us to come into God\u2019s presence with thanksgiving and praise.
